New Client Process – What happens?

Step 1 – Initial contact from owner via web page contact form, email, text or whatsapp, I will contact you to arrange a telephone call (unless initial enquiry a call).

Step 2 – During our telephone call I will ask a few basic questions.

Which service(s) do you require? Homeboarding, Daycare or both? Do you have any specific dates? Is your dog over 12 months (under 12 months not accepted)? Is your dog neutered/spayed (if not, dogs not accepted)? Are your dog’s vaccinations (Leptospirosis & DHP) in date? (proof required). Kennel Cough? Does your dog have regular Flea & Worm preventative treatment? (details are required)? Does your dog have separation anxiety? Does your dog have any resource guarding issues (i.e food or toy possessiveness)? Does your dog have good recall? Does your dog pull strongly on the lead? Does your dog have any reactivity (people/ other dogs / other)? Does your dog have a strong prey drive?

Step 3 – I will open an electronic client account for you on my online booking system, Pet Sitter Plus (PSP), sending you an email containing instructions on how to access your client account, via the PSP portal. All personal data will be stored in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPRs) as set out in the Data Protection Act 2018. Once in your account please complete all sections of ‘My Information’. A picture of in date vaccination certificate or other evidence is required.  If you require assistance with your client account, please do call, I’ll be happy to help. This must be completed before step 4.

Step 4 – Meet and Greet at my home to meet myself and, Darcy, my little mixed breed rescue dog. WAt a mutually convenient time we’ll go for a short walk before entering my property for you to view my facilities and ask any questions. It is likely guest dogs will be here, introductions to them will be done in a slow and safe manner as not to overwhelm them or your dog(s). This will give us some indication of how your dog may react whilst in my care.

Step 5 – Trials, your dog comes to me for either a half day or full daycare. A mandatory overnight trial is also required. Service requests will only be accepted on completion of successful trials.

Packing List

  • Lead, Collar and owners ID Tag (compulsory)
  • Harness/Halti
  • Treats
  • Food
  • Blanket / Bed (bed hopping is a regular occurrence though)!

Bowls are not required, I have a wide variety plus slow feeders, kongs, snuffle mats, etc.

Towels are not required, I have plenty.

Dropping off and Collecting your Dog(s)

Please call or text when arriving for Meet and Greets, Trials, Dropping off or Collecting your dog(s). I will meet you at the front gate. Access to my home is restricted to Meet and Greets, minimising disturbance and disruption to my own dog, guest dogs and my neighbours.

Daycare Trial – Although a Daycare Trial is not Mandatory we do advise at least one session, you may prefer your dog to start with a half day. The majority of our Daycare guests stay overnight at some point so even if you do not foresee the need of my Home Boarding services we advise it as peace of mind in case there was an emergency where your dog may be left without someone to care for them.

Mandatory Overnight Trial In accordance with Animal Welfare Regulations Oct 2018 a mandatory overnight trial must take place and be documented.

Please be aware that children are not allowed on Muttlyns premises at any time.

PLEASE NOTE

Dogs’ behaviour will be constantly monitored. If this changes and becomes problematic I reserve the right to terminate our contract without notice.

Those behaving dangerously, persistent barkers or those exhibiting other unwanted behaviour will not be accepted.
